PArents' FAQ

How much do classes cost?  Tuition is calculated based on the number of hours your child is enrolled in per week.  There is a $35 annual registration fee per family.

FIRST PAYMENT:  Your first payment at the time of enrollment will include the $35 registration fee, as well as your first month's tuition. This tuition payment may be prorated if you enroll mid-month, or the session begins with a partial month of classes (fall classes begin mid-August).   All subsequent tuition payments will be your full tuition amount, charged on the 25th of each month for the upcoming month.

WHICH LEVEL SHOULD I ENROLL MY CHILD IN?:  Dancers typically start in level 1 or 2 and remain in each level for 2-3 years. We offer a minimum age requirement for every class, however, dance experience is always the primary determining factor for class placement.  Although we understand that dancers want to take class with their peer group, having the proper level of training and experience is the most important factor in selecting a class level in order to ensure that dancers are learning technique thoroughly and in the proper order.  If your child has complete 2 years of a particular class level, please reach out to inquire about advancement.  We follow our age and experience cutoffs to ensure the dancers enrolled are at similar developmental, maturity levels and training levels. Classes are more fun and educational when dancers are placed appropriately.

PRESCHOOL DANCERS:  Preschool dancers must be 3 years old by Oct. 15 in order to participate in our Preschool Program for the season. Dancers must also be potty trained.

LEVEL 1 DANCERS:  Level 1 dancers must be 5 and in Kindergarten by Oct. 15 in order to participate in our level 1 classes. Please consider enrolling in our Stars Preschool dance program if your child does not meet the age cutoff.

May I enroll my child mid-month? Tuition will be prorated when a child enrolls mid-month.  This amount will be automatically calculated for you in our registration system.

Where may I purchase dance wear? You may purchase items on your own, or visit our ONLINE SHOE AND DANCEWEAR STORE. BUA will receive a portion of the proceeds from all sales.

​

Should I stay at the studio during my child's class? You are welcome to stay on the studio grounds, or you may drop your child off and pick them up at the end of class.  

 

Can my child switch classes?  If you need to switch classes for any reason, you may do so provided that there is space available in the class of your choice.  Please contact the studio email to change your online enrollment

 

What happens if the class we choose is already full? We have a maximum amount of students for each class to ensure a quality learning environment. If you enroll after this maximum number is reached, your child will be added to the waiting list for the class. We will contact you as soon as space becomes available.

 

Can we try a class before we register? Contact us for a free trial class!  Please keep in mind that classes fill very quickly during our school year registration period.  In waiting to take your trial class, you may lose your position in a class.

How do we cancel our enrollment? You may drop a class at any time throughout the year.  As a courtesy, we ask that you notify us one month in advance.  Refunds and credits will not be issued for dropped classes, missed classes, or registration fees.

Do you offer make-up classes if my child needs to miss a class?  You may drop into another class of your choice as a make up if you miss a class provided the class is not full. Please RSVP in advance if you plan to make up a class.

​

What about snow days other class cancellations? If classes need to be cancelled for any reason, we will do our best to schedule make-up classes or issues tuition credits for cancellations.  If you are not able to attend a make up session, you may drop into the class of your choice at any time.

Is there a performance/recital? Yes!  All dancers are invited to perform in our Spring Recital. Costume orders are placed in January. There is also the option to perform at local community events!

​

How do you communicate with parents? Studio communication happens primarily via email.  Please make sure you have opted IN to receiving emails, and that you read email communications and newsletters as they arrive.  Important announcements may also posted on the studio website, Facebook and Instagram Pages.
